Miaraq, Warren Jones (Gwich'in, Yup'ik, Inupiaq) grew up in Alaska. Jones spent the early part of his childhood along the Bering Coast in Nome and the second half of his childhood in the Matanuska Valley in the community of Palmer.

Jones studies and writes about philosophy and advocates for Indigenous-led land management and conservation in Alaska. Before joining the ILI, he worked as a Cultural Fellow for Alaska Venture Fund.

Jones has done much in his life, growing up in close relationship with the land spending much of his childhood hunting, fishing and gathering with his family. He is a United States Marine Corp veteran, serving in OIF II and III with the 13th and 15th Marine Expeditionary Units. He is married to Sacha Jones, and they have four children together.
