Brie O’Keefe is a social policy specialist who supports Indigenous Organizations, First Nations and Municipal Governments in the Northwest Territories on a wide variety of policy and strategic planning issues including conservation, land use planning, self-government negotiations and fundraising. Born and raised in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, O’Keefe has a First Class Honours Degree in International Development from McGill University and a Masters in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has worked for the Indigenous Leadership Initiative since 2019.

Prior to returning to Yellowknife in 2017, O’Keefe worked for 12 years in the international development sector based in London, UK. At the ONE campaign she developed online campaigns, managing the organizations large email list. She supported global advocacy and campaigning at Save the Children in the UK and abroad, working in countries as diverse as Liberia, Ethiopia, Pakistan and Jordan. She was the Head of Advocacy at Saferworld, a conflict prevention organization running programs in over 20 countries. Finally, O’Keefe managed a large portfolio of grants while working in private philanthropy for the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation.
