Kelly Bannister
Kelly Bannister lives with her family on the unceded Coast Salish territory of the Pune'luxutth Tribe. She is a fourth-generation settler of diasporic Ukrainian descent on her maternal side and a fourth-generation settler of British descent on her paternal side.
Kelly’s background is in ethnobotany and applied ethics, and her applications are in biocultural diversity and water relations. She works primarily as a consultant to support collaborative processes and articulations of ethical guidance and to evolve ethics policy based on cross-cultural and relational approaches that are informed by Indigenous and other wisdom traditions.
She is Co-Director of the POLIS Project on Ecological Governance at the Centre for Global Studies, University of Victoria.
